But hey! I won free registration to next year's [livejournal.com profile] wincon in the raffle at Winprom!

Maybe this weekend I'll have the energy to type up an actual report. I've barely had time to breathe since I got back. This is the first unscheduled block of time I've had since I got off the plane on Sunday.

Credit for all these icons is given in my userpics section. If you like 'em, leave comments for the artists!

Which reminds me, I represented podfic at the Fan Art panel! I took two things away from that experience: 1) There really, really needs to be a dedicated podfic panel next year, and 2) It would have been really awesome to hear from some more visual medium fan artists. I love the diverse range of artistic expression in fandom.

Question: do you think a podfic listening party would work at wincon? I'm thinking it could be kind of like the vid party, with <5 minute podfics from multiple fandoms.

Okay, I seriously have to go feed myself now. If I start daydreaming about podfic, I'll never get off the couch.

Your icon rundown pretty much mirrors what mine would look like. :D

I'd totally be down for a podfic listening party next year. And a dedicated podfic panel or two. For art, it occurs to me there might be need of a little gallery people where people can show off their work.

I love the idea of having a gallery! That could provide a really great entry point for people who haven't been exposed to much fan art. I was only dimly aware of vidding before the vid party at wincon last year - I think having similar functions for podfic and art at wincon would be awesome.

I like your con report.
GO TEAM NEW ZEALAND indeed!
:D :D

A podfic listening could definitely work, although I think you're right that it would probably work best with shorter ones.

oh... and Vids!! a vid panel would be awesome, too.

[livejournal.com profile] wiscon held both a vid party and vid panel this year, and it was fantastic. I'd attend the hell out of a vidding panel at [livejournal.com profile] wincon.

your wincon reactions look a lot like mine, complete with boogie. :D

i fully support both a podfic panel and a podfic listening party next year. partly because if i wanted to submit something for the listening party, i'd have to start thinking about it now because i procrastinate like i get paid for it.... *cough* but i think it would be a really cool idea. i'm not sure how many listeners it would get, but at least the option would be there.

Yeah, I think a panel would be pretty well attended, but I can't really tell how many people would do the listening party. I think it would be great to highlight different fandoms, recording styles, and accents in the listening party, and then have the panel the next day so we could refer back to those examples.

And yeah, procrastination - I'm right there with you!

that's a tight present
