Oh my god you guys, [livejournal.com profile] manifesty made cover art for my podfic of The 80/20 Theory As  Applied to Cats on the Bed. You guys, it's beautiful. Just look at it.

[livejournal.com profile] manifesty does gorgeous work with cover art. The images zhe chooses and hir attention to light and color are amazing. I highly recommend looking through hir tumblr, Podfic Covers

I'm taking this excuse to repost this podfic with updated links (previously it was only available as an m4a - long, boring story that boils down to my general cluelessness). If you'd like this podfic in a more normal file format, and/or if you'd like a copy with some amazing cover art attached, the links are posted below!

I have two papers to write, a presentation to prepare for, an eight hour workshop, and full shift at work this weekend, but I can't stop playing this vid. It has me completely entranced.

Help!

(Or, if not help, at least validate me. I posted it on facebook, but my facebook friends never click on anything I post that has anything to do with Star Trek. No matter how hard I try, I just can't convince them of the awesome.)

nickelmountain: (a lovely day)
I spent yesterday in Milwaukee, drinking coffee and talking fandom with [livejournal.com profile] nwhepcat  and [livejournal.com profile] huzzlewhat . The day was made of awesome. It was my first meet-up with other fans - I went to one day of the Supernatural con in November, but I didn't actually talk to anyone. So cool to talk about fanfic out loud.

This meet-up was unlike other specialized interest meet-ups I've been to. Very occasionally, I'll find myself at a vegan meet-up. The food is generally pretty awesome, but the people talk about nothing but being vegan. The politics of it, especially. It gets old. I've been vegan almost half my life - it's a fact of my existence, not an interest. I have my reasons, but I don't feel compelled to go over them again and again.

Fandom...is totally different. I really want to talk about fannish stuff, pretty much all the time, and nickelhusband has been my solitary, long-suffering audience up until now. Also, [livejournal.com profile] nwhepcat and [livejournal.com profile] huzzlewhat are cool as hell. You can tell anyone I said so.

I promised another podfic. It will happen. I'm in the preliminary stages now.

But first - eight hours at work!

that's a tight present
